INVESTIGATING THE USE OF ICT BY USING VOICE-VIDEO MAKER APPLICATIONS FOR STUDENTS’ SPEAKING PRACTICE

Abstract


The role of technology in the teaching and learning is vary to optimize the learning output. Some applications that are familiar in the classroom includes SOM, PSM, Filmorago, and Kinemaster. Since there is similarity in terms of the procedure how to utilize the application so this study elaborated more to voice-video makers. This paper is aimed specifically to investigate the voice-video maker used in the classroom to allow the students reach their optimum learning. This descriptive qualitative research involved 30 students of SMAN 2 Cianjur taken randomly from X, XI, XII graders using likert scale to investigate two major quest related to plan, implement, and evaluate the use of various ICT in the classroom. The data also taken from the field-note since the researcher acted as participant. The result shows two main information. The first related to the teacher and the second related to students where the data also added from the interview. The results show that English teachers have used ICT as tools for preparing material and doing presentation. Students also have utilized digital applications in form of voice-video maker in EFL classroom for many speaking activities. The students’ responses were positive that showed their creativity and imagination in using the voice-video maker applications during the process.
