This study used a qualitative descriptive method todiscover the students' opinions through a survey of 48 students from Halu Oleo University'sDepartment of English Language Education. Twelve closed questionnaire items and three openquestionnaire items were used to gather students’ opinions. The questionnaires were distributedusing a Google Form. The findings suggest that students' opinions toward using plot generators to help themwrite short stories and poems were 70.5 percent positive and 22.7 percent neutral, with only6.8 percent having a negative opinion. While the students' open item indicates that using theplot generator application helps them develop ideas for literary works, it also helps them bemore creative when writing short stories and poems. Based on these findings, pedagogicalsuggestions for language and literary lecturers are provided, as are recommendations forstudents who will be taking related courses and creating other literary works using thisapplication in the upcoming semester and academic year.
