Teacher Performance in Applying Online-Learning Activity during The Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract


The learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects, particularly in education field. It includes the teaching methods used by the teachers. The situation has led the teacher to shift from conventional teaching-learning methods to online teaching-learning methods. In this case, not all teachers are ready for the changing. Teachers need to learn and adapt the new teaching-learning habit that might be affected their teaching performance. This study was conducted to know the teacher’s performance in conducting the online learning activity during the pandemic. There are two aspects of teacher’s performance that have been discussed in the research namely planning and implementation. This research used a descriptive qualitative research method; questionnaires and interviews were used as instruments in collecting data. The participants of the study were students in semester 1 and 3 of the English education program at a university in Bogor. From the data, the participants assumed that the teacher had planned and implemented online learning very well.
